June
Team Accomplishments
For our supporting
team members June was busy and full of good results
and tough challenges like racing often provides.
In the Sunoco Modified
series the #11 of John Avery ran once giving John more
seat time and more confidence. Jody London again
filled in during the main event and recorded a 12th
place finish as he cautiously brought the car in early
with some question about operating temperature. Later
inspection found nothing wrong and John is looking
forward to more racing in July.
In the Street Stock
class Kris Hillegeer had an up and down June with a
win, two – 2nd place finishes and a DNF that trashed
a rear end. Spencer Speedway is working on incentives
to bring in more cars and provide additional
competition which is what fans and racers enjoy. Kris
now sits in first place in the season points.
Super Six driver Ryan
Hillegeer also had a good June running up front, being
competitive in each race, and overcoming adversity to
record 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th place finishes. Ryan is
4th place in season points in a very competitive field
with plenty of opportunity to improve his position.
Ryan is searching for that elusive handling solution
that will hold competitors off long enough to score a
victory.
Kevin Bartalone
continues his battles in the Scorpion 4 Cylinder class
also showing consistent competitive runs. Finishes of
4th, 6th, 6th and 3rd have Kevin running his best and
securing 4th place in season points. It's clear that
Kevin is just a little experience and a little good
fortune away from picking up his first win.

Rounding out the fleet
of blue #18 racers is Kris Hillegerr's son Tucker and
his Microd effort at the Sodus Microd club on Sundays.

Memorial
Day Weekend a Wild Ride
Our teammates began
the highly competitive weekend at Spencer Speedway to
finish up the prior week’s heats and features that
Mother Nature had rudely interrupted. In the Weekly
Modified division, Jody London was called upon to run
John Avery’s #11 in the 100 lap opener. Jody’s
main mission was to bring John’s car home safe while
taking advantage of the historically substantial
attrition. To our surprise, the modified drivers
behaved themselves on the new asphalt and after 65
laps, we called Jody pit side with a 15th place
finish.
John will return to
his car for continued laps as he pursues rookie of the
year honors.
In Street Stock
action, Kris Hillegeer had a great opening night by
patiently waiting for an opening on leader Michael
Wright and completing the pass for the opening night
victory.
Brother Ryan Hillegeer
had the roughest night, crashing out of the Super Six
main event while battling for 6th place. Repairs

update on our Family of Racers
While our main team
recovers from a tough start to the season we and our
teammates have hardly sat still.
Jody London has his
SST Modified up for sale and continues doing some
basic maintenance “just in case” he gets the itch
and the support to go back to mod racing. In the mean
time he has bought two karts and is racing in the
Upstate NY area with drivers Cassie McGrath, daughter
of modified driver Tom McGrath and co-driver Andy
Jankowiak, both drivers are out of the Greater Buffalo
area. Cassie made her first outing at Paradise
Speedway (Geneva) and found that karting on dirt was a
bit different than 4 cylinder cars on asphalt. The
kart was not quite set up properly yet Cassie hung in
there and battled hard and is looking forward to
better results come June. Andy took the #89 kart out
the following week and with an updated set-up managed
a fine 2nd place finish. As Jody’s drivers will be
busy for the next few weeks in their personal race
machines, Jody will be gracing local speedways lending
a hand to .....
